New Cash Transfer Scheme for Disaster Victims Unveiled

Global payments technology giant Visa Inc. and the Cash Learning Partnership, a consortium of humanitarian aid organizations, are working together to improve the delivery of cash transfers in times of disasters.

The project, which will be piloted in the Philippines, seeks to develop tools to help humanitarian organizations effectively and rapidly deliver relief funding to people affected by natural disasters and other crises.

Visa is extending financial support to the project, including funding for a study into mechanisms for cash transfer programming when disasters happen in urban areas.
