New DFID Minister Reviews UK Aid Impact in Uganda

Newly appointed British international development minister Stephen O’Brien travelled to northern Uganda last week to conduct a fact-finding mission on the impact of U.K. aid in the African nation.

O’Brien lauded the recovery efforts in the war-torn region of Gulu.

“I was in Uganda about three years ago but I am delighted to be back again, this time as a minister, so that I can see for myself the enormous progress and the peace that has offered the former displaced persons a chance to return home,” O’Brien was quoted by the Daily Monitor.
