Niger to Bolster Food Security With IFAD Funding

The International Fund for Agricultural Development will provide USD6.5 million in loan and another USD6.5 million in grant to Niger to help curb food insecurity in the regions of Maradi, Tahoua and Tillabery.

The program will bolster food production systems, particularly for irrigated rice and wheat. It will also enhance the mobility of people and goods, and improve access to water for rural communities and livestock.
