Non-State Actors to Benefit from EC Support to Papua New Guinea

With a five-million-euro funding, the European Commission aims to strengthen the capacity of non-state actors in Papua New Guinea to advocate for good governance.

The support intends to improve the capabilities of NSAs in conducting dialogues with the government and providing inputs in the policy-making and planning processes, the EC head of operations told Devex.

The commission will also provide assistance in capacity building of NSAs to develop their financial, operational and management functions, he said.

The call for proposals may come out in June or July this year.

Apart from supporting non-state actors, the EC is also funding programs in human resource and rural economic development.
