North Korea needs to allocate more funds for health programs and work to improve the reach and quality of its health care services, World Health Organization Director General Margaret Chan said after visiting the country last week. Chan noted that while North Korea already made notable achievements in several aspects of its public health system, a lot more needs to be done, especially on nutrition, tobacco control and lifestyle-related diseases like health cancer, stroke and heart disease.
