Norway is implementing a new strategy to guarantee proper use of the development money it provides. “Many countries in need of our development cooperation have weak social structures and widespread corruption. But we must constantly seek to ensure better control of our development funds,” said environment and international development minister Erik Solheim. The new approach will employ a whistle-blowing scheme and establish a central control unit to ensure proper observance of procedures.
