Five years after its inception, the Millennium Challenge Corp. and its focus on accountability are already being copied by other aid organizations, said Ambassador John J. Danilovich days before leaving his post as MCC chief executive in January 2009. As he revamps U.S. foreign assistance, President Obama should add resources to the MCC's cause, Danilovich suggested.
In his interview with Devex, Danilovich also discussed MCC successes,international aid reform and the difference between China and MCC's development strategies, MCC partnerships and collaborations with civil society, as well as his advice for the next MCC chief.
