The World Food Program and Oxfam are seeking USD28 million for their five-year partnership aimed at helping rural households cope with the impact of climate change.
The R4 partnership will help farmers take out weather-indexed insurance and pay for their premiums through WFP-backed food- and cash-for-work programs.
R4 will be piloted in Ethiopia and three other countries in 2011.
