Pakistan Wins French Energy Assistance

France is providing 25.5 million euros (USD33 million) to help rehabilitate a power plant in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The loan will be used to repair the Jabban power plant, which was discontinued for use following a fire in 2006, the Pakistan Observer says. The assistance also includes technical assistance for the training of engineers at the country’s Water and Power Development Authority.
