Person of the Week: Edwin Cuenco

Edwin Cuenco teaches graphic design to make a living. He also uses his skills to provide pro bono graphic design services to non-governmental organizations.

A winner of this year’s United Nations Online Volunteering Award, Cuenco has helped the Association Against Women Export design promotional materials to raise awareness on human trafficking.

“Online volunteering completely changed my life. I didn’t choose it – in some ways, it chose me. I always learn something new, share my skills, meet new friends, help other people. Moreover, I think I grew personally and became a better, caring individual. I volunteer online because it is my civic and moral duty,” Cuenco said.

A native of the Philippines, Cuenco teaches graphic design at Arkansas Tech University.
