Poland has forged an agreement with the European Union on more relaxed public finance rules to support the costs of pension reform, the Polish finance ministry has confirmed.

    “The European Commission is no longer negating the fact that pension reform costs have to be accounted for when calculating public debt and deficit,” Reuters quoted the ministry’s press office as saying on Dec. 10.
