Red Cross Seeks More Aid for Chile

The Red Cross hopes to raise USD12.9 million, double its original appeal of USD6.4 million, for quake-hit Chile, Agence France-Presse reports. The sum will be used to “provide more comprehensive assistance to a greater number of families,” the global relief agency said in a statement quoted by AFP. It will go toward delivering shelter as well as health and water and sanitation services to earthquake victims for one year.
