Rodney Bent is SID-Washington's New Board President

Rodney Bent, former acting CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corp., is now the board president of the Society for International Development-Washington, D.C.

Bent replaces Betsy Bassan, senior vice president for international health group at Chemonics International. As SID-Washington’s board president, Bent will oversee the chapter’s hosting of the organization’s triennial international congress, slated for July next year.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.), chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, will address the SID-Washington community on Sept. 21 at Chemonics International. Berman will discuss his vision for U.S. foreign aid reform and cooperation with the international development community.
