Rwanda Gains Donor Funding for Agriculture Sector

Rwanda and several major donors signed an agreement that would allow for more aid going to the agricultural sector. “The (memorandum of understanding) has provisions of funding, monitoring and review of progress made in efforts for the development of agriculture,” according to Rwandan Minister of Agriculture Christopher Bazivamo. The accord, however, did not provide the specific financial commitment by donors, which include the World Bank, African Development Bank and several United Nations agencies.
