SIDA Backs IOM Efforts in Zimbabwe

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency is expected to allocate USD1.5 million worth of assistance to mobile and vulnerable people and returning migrants in Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Mail says. The funds will be coursed through the International Organization for Migration.

The donation is part of the response to IOM’s consolidated appeal for 2010 and will be used to strengthen two of the organization’s key areas of intervention, namely a comprehensive approach to delivering emergency humanitarian assistance and provision of early recovery and livelihood support, IOM Zimbabwe’s Chief of Mission Marcelo Pisani explained, according to Zimbabwe Mail.
