Sierra Leone’s foreign minister, Zainab Bangura, said the United Nations Security Council’s decision to lift sanctions against the African nation indicates that her country is now ready to focus on development. The council voted unanimously to lift sanctions, including an arms embargo, imposed during the country’s 11-year civil war, Voice of America reports.
