Singapore to Host Global Volunteers Meeting

    More than 1,000 international volunteers are expected to gather in Singapore from Jan. 24 to Jan. 27, 2011, for the 21st World Volunteer Conference, which would focus on humanitarian relief, among other topics.

    The conference is organized by the International Association for Volunteer Efforts and Singapore’s National Volunteer and Philanthropy Center, according to Asia One News. It will feature more than 150 local and international speakers, including movie personalities Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li.

    This is the first time the conference will be held in Southeast Asia.
