Slovakia Trims Aid Partners, Sector Priorities

The Slovak government will reduce the number of its aid-recipient nations and narrow the scope of its priority sectors as part of its 2011 National Program of Official Development Aid adopted Jan. 26.

The move seeks to reduce aid fragmentation and increase public awareness on the contribution of Slovak aid.

The document focuses on capacity building, education, transfer of know-how and greater involvement of Slovak organizations in using development funding from the European Union.
