Slovakia is now interested in joining the list of contributors to World Bank programs. “These are standard proceedings in case a country reaches a certain GDP level per person,” Slovak Finance Minister Jan Pociatek stated following a cabinet meeting. He cited the case of the country’s neighbors – the Czech Republic and Hungary – which have made the shift as well. “We’ll become a country that won’t be a receiver but a giver of aid. We’ll be contributing to a joint package, from which developing countries will be able to draw money,” Pociatek proudly declared.
