Spain, IDB Create Fund for Haitian SMEs

The Inter-American Development Bank and Spain have established a USD67 million fund to support small and medium-sized enterprises in Haiti.

The fund, announced in last week’s 20th Ibero-American Summit in Argentina, will provide credits between USD10,000 to USD300,000 to Hatian SMEs. The fund will be administered by the Inter-American Corp. of Investments and channel resources through local financial institutions, Chinese news agency Xinhua reports.
