State Department Names New Grant Winners for Middle East Partnership Initiative

The State Department has announced grants worth a total of USD3.65 million under an initiative that aims to improve the capacity of civil society groups and social innovators to use technology to improve their effectiveness.

The grants from the Middle East Partnership Initiative went to the Institute of International Education, Soliya and Mercy Corps.

The USD1.6 million grant for IIE will go toward its New Media Technical Assistance for Civil Society project. Soliya plans to use its USD1.25 million grant for the project dubbed Terana: Strengthening Leaders, Equipping Organizations, and Enabling Public Discourse, while Mercy Corps’ USD800,00 grant will benefit the Innovation & Media Partnership for Action, Collaboration, and Transformation in the Middle East & North Africa initiative.
