Swiss development agency gets new chief

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has a new leader starting next month. Martin Dahinden will succeed Walter Fust, who ran the agency for the past 15 years. The 53-year-old former head of the Geneva-based International Center for Humanitarian Demining will take his post at a time when the organization is in the process of revising its aid policy, with the SDC looking to shorten its list of beneficiary countries. SDC’s annual budget amounts to USD1.3 billion. (Source: New development aid chief appointed/Swissinfo.ch)
