UAE transfers $80M aid to Palestinians

In fulfillment of its aid pledges, the United Arab Emirates delivered $80 million in financial assistance to the Palestinian Finance Ministry, representing the biggest contribution to the Palestinians since an international embargo on direct aid began in March 2006. Earlier, Norway released $10 million to the Palestinian Authority, making it the only Western country to resume normal ties with the new Fatah-Hamas coalition government. The funding will be used to pay for wages of government employees, said a statement from the office of Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas.
