UK Conservatives Urge Re-Targeting of Foreign Aid

British political party Tory wants a rethink of how the U.K. allocates its foreign aid budget of 9.1 billion pounds (USD14.6 billion),

reports. The Tories seek to cancel the British government's assistance to wealthier developing nations, including the annual aid grant to China of 50 million pounds. "I suspect that we will reduce the number … We would narrow the focus as part of making it sharper and less scattergun," said shadow international development secretary Andrew Mitchell.
