UK Offers Fresh Aid for Afghanistan

The

plans to commit 255 million pounds ($419 million) in the next four years for Agfhan development initiatives. Of the sum, 60 million pounds will be immediately made available to the Afghan Reconstruction Trust Fund for 2009-2010, while an additional 30 million pounds will go toward Afghanistan's Comprehensive Agriculture and Rural Development Facility, U.K. Secretary of State for International Development Douglas Alexander said Monday.
