UK Responds to Humanitarian Crisis in Horn of Africa

The U.K.

will provide 39 million pounds (USD62.26 million) to help address the humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa, where a severe drought caused widespread food shortage. Of the total funds, 30 million pounds will be given to Ethiopia, 5 million pounds will go to Kenya, and the remaining 4 million pounds will benefit Somalia. The sum will be managed by UNICEF, the World Food Program and humanitarian nonprofits in the three African countries.
