UN Allocates Funds to Neglected Humanitarian Crises

The United Nations has allocated approximately USD100 million to support 14

around the globe. U.N. agencies and partner organizations in Ethiopia will receive USD17 million from the U.N. Central Emergency Response Fund, while organizations in Congo will receive USD16 million. CERF will also provide USD11 million to Afghanistan, USD10 million to Kenya, USD8 million to North Korea, USD7 million for Yemen, USD7 million to Chad, USD5 million to Niger, and USD3 million each for operations in Colombia, Eritrea, Haiti, and the Philippines. The remaining USD2 million will be given to U.N. agencies and groups in Guinea.
