UN Emergency Fund Beefs Up Aid Initiatives in Zimbabwe

The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund will release USD11 million to scale up humanitarian work in Zimbabwe. According to the

, the allocation will back priority life-saving programs identified by U.N. humanitarian agencies, the International Organization for Migration, and their non-governmental organization partners. Only 12 percent of U.N.’s USD567 million appeal for Zimbabwe for 2009 has so far been funded.
