UN Extends Peace-building Project in Bangladesh

The United Nations and Bangladesh have entered into an 

 extending a peace-building project in the country's Chittagong Hill Tracts region. The agreement will increase the project's budget to USD160.5 million from the USD50 million initial budget released in 2003. Sectors benefiting from the ongoing project include health, education, capacity and confidence building, economic development, and community empowerment.
