UN Eyes Flood Aid Appeal for Benin

The United Nations says it will “shortly” launch a humanitarian appeal for Benin, where some 700,000 people are reeling from flooding.

Water, food and emergency shelter are among the primary needs in the affected areas of the African nation, according to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The office has allocated an emergency cash grant to provide tents and support logisctics operations in Benin.
