UN Offers Medical Aid for Pregnant Women in Mongolia

The United Nations Population Fund, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and UNICEF, is distributing medicines, equipment and supplies to mobile medical teams and local district hospitals in Mongolia. The medical assistance is intended for pregnant women in the western region of the Central Asian nation, which is reeling from severe winter conditions.

“The needs of pregnant women and newborns cannot wait until normal times. That is why mobile teams are needed to reach them where they are,” said UNFPA Representative in Mongolia Argentina Matavel.
