UN Relief Chief in West Africa

United Nations humanitarian chief John Holmes is in West Africa to bring attention to the food crisis in the region. Holmes began the first leg of his visit in Senegal, where he is expected to evaluate disaster management, risk reduction and humanitarian coordination in the region. Holmes also urged donors to fund the additional USD133 million humanitarian appeal for Niger.
