UN Seeks More Aid to Combat Cholera in Guinea Bissau

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is asking for more funding to fight a cholera outbreak in Guinea Bissau, which has claimed 201 lives since May. The U.N. has already pooled more than USD1 million this year for the initiative. More than 1,000 new cases are being diagnosed every month, said OCHA spokeswoman Elizabeth Byrs.
