UN Seeks USD11 Million for Yemen Flood Victims

The United Nations and its partners appealed for USD11.5 million to help provide food, water and sanitation, health, and shelter services to around 650,000 Yemeni flood victims in the next two to six months. The funding will support projects proposed by seven U.N. agencies, the International Organization for Migration and two non-governmental organizations. Food aid provision is expected to continue until the next harvest in April 2009. (“UN, aid partners appeal for USD11.5 million help 650,000 flood victims in Yemen” - United Nations, Nov. 10, 2008)
