UNICEF, Iraq Map out New Child Development Strategy

UNICEF and the Iraqi government conducted a strategic meeting to draft the country program of cooperation for Iraq from 2011 to 2014. The new strategy will focus on child protection, participation and well-being for development, as well as the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals related to child survival and development.

“We look forward to prioritizing investments in every one of Iraq’s 15 million children, in order to secure the country’s future stability, development and prosperity,” UNICEF Representative in Iraq Sikander Khan said in a press release.
