U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged to veto an increase in the European Union’s budget that will cost each household 400 pounds. The European Commission is seeking a 4.9 percent hike in its budget for 2012, Mail Online reports.

“The idea that when we’re making difficult decisions at home, cuts in government departments, freezing people’s salaries in the public sector, the idea that Brussels should be immune is completely for the birds,” Cameron told BBC on April 21.
