US Asks World Bank to Prioritize Clean Energy Funding

Whitney Debevoise, the U.S. director to the World Bank, is pressuring the international financing institution to prioritize lending for clean energy projects in developing countries,

reports. In a letter to the bank, Debevoise listed suggested guidelines for prioritizing funds for clean energy projects over those that use carbon-intensive energy sources. The guidelines, however, are not binding.
