US Boosts Nigerian Energy Sector

The U.S. will provide USD1.5 million worth of technical support to help the Nigerian government meet its power sector priorities, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said August 5.

Clinton made the announcement during a joint press conference with Nigerian Foreign Minister Henry Odein Ajumogobia, who recently visited Washington.

The assistance is part of the initiatives under the U.S.-Nigerian Binational Commission, which Clinton said focuses on four critical areas: good governance and transparency, regional security, food security and agriculture and energy reform and investment.
