US Charity Donations for Haiti Outpaces Tsunami Giving

Donations to U.S. charities' operations in Haiti are outpacing the donations given in the aftermath of the 2004 Asian tsunami but still lag behind the pace of donation for Hurricane Katrina victims, the

reports. By Jan. 21, Haiti donations to 32 U.S. charities have reached USD305 million. The Washington post noted that donations to Katrina victims reached USD580 million eight day after the event, while donations to the Asian tsunami reached USD163 million in the same number of days.
