US Congress Gets Pakistan Aid Plan

The Obama administration has provided U.S. lawmakers with a spending plan for the USD1.45 billion allocation for Pakistan in 2010, which will be used to back water and energy projects, as well as a media campaign to thwart extremist views.

The 15-page spending plan, obtained by Reuters, mentions that more than USD1 billion will be used to strengthen government capacity at both the local and national levels, while USD55 million will go to infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy sector.
