US Offers Funds for Afghanistan Agriculture Ministry

The U.S. has pledged to provide USD20 million to

efforts of Afghanistan's Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock. In a meeting with Afghan counterpart Asif Ramihi, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said the ministry can apply for funding by establishing reconstruction goals that will target improved agricultural productivity, irrigation and technologies. Vilsack clarified that the funding is not guaranteed and that the ministry must show commitment to transparency.
