US revises Cuba aid policy

This year, the U.S. earmarked USD45.7 million for activities encouraging democracy in Cuba. But organizations will see new guidelines as the Bush administration made a decision to rewrite its policy for such type of grants. The move followed a scandal involving former White House aide Felipe Sixto, who now faces accusations that he misused funds provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development during his tenure at the Centers for a Free Cuba.
