US Tops List of Haiti Donors

The United States is leading the international community in terms of aid commitment to Haiti, having already spent USD170 million for relief operations in the country, the Wall Street Journal reports. As of Jan. 22, foreign governments have pledged approximately USD1 billion in aid to Haiti. Canada is the second largest donor.

Meanwhile, European countries have donated a combined total of USD575 million, with the U.K., France, and Sweden as the largest donors.
