USAID funds Pakistan economy survey

The U.S. Agency for International Development will tap its Competitiveness Support Fund to conduct a survey that will assess Pakistan’s local business climate. The findings will form part of the World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Report. The CSF also finances seminars designed to promote the role of women in Pakistan’s economy, and build lasting partnerships between business and academic institutions in order to bring down gender barriers. The traditional role of women in Pakistan’s economic has been minimal, as they have been discouraged from partaking in business ventures.
