The U.S. Agency for International Development is holding the Africa Regional Education Workshop in Tanzania. The workshop, which runs from June 6 to June 9, aims to develop new models for education that improve national ownership of development activities and better engage the civil society and higher education institutions in the region. More than 180 participants from the region’s education ministries, the private sector and implementing partner organizations are expected to attend the event.
USAID also recently held its third annual conference on attracting small business leaders to take part in development programs. The May 27 meeting featured a “Lunch with the Leaders” segment that allowed small business representatives to meet informally with senior USAID representatives.
