USAID Taps Haitian-American Firm for Quake Cleanup

PHS Group, a Haitian-American engineering firm, was awarded a USD3.5 million contract by the U.S. Agency for International Development to assist in cleanup work in post-quake Haiti, Miami Herald reports. The small business set-aside contract involves management of a debris site in the port area of Port-au-Prince. The contract was made under the Business Development Program of the Small Business Administration. This program allows USAID to partner with small businesses and firms through federal authorities.
