Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said his supporters are in a better position to reintroduce the reform plan before his term ends in 2013 in a “new offensive” to transform the country into a socialist state. A new plan could be modified to make it easier for citizens to understand and be pushed forward through a constitutional assembly, Chavez said at a news conference in Caracas. He also said that the government is considering the creation of so- called “Bolivarian militias” by decree. (Bloomberg)
