The Asian Development Bank will lend USD196 million to help construct a hydroelectric plant in Vietnam’s central Quang Nam province. Power demand in the country is projected to increase 16 percent annually until 2010. The Asian nation’s largest electricity producer and sole distributor – state-owned Electricity Vietnam – will provide USD70 million for the project.
