Webinar on UNICEF job opportunities now available online

The United Nations Children’s Fund isn’t just hiring health and education specialists – it is increasingly looking for development professionals with experience serving the hardest-to-reach people around the world.

That’s because UNICEF has adopted an equity-based approach to development aid, focusing its assistance on those who, geographically or socially, are the most deprived. Recruiting staff with the right local expertise can be challenging for an agency that works in 162 countries, including a number of middle-income countries.

“We need people who have really strong understanding of the social conditions in the places we work,” said Rolf Schaller, UNICEF’s chief of recruitment and staffing.

Schaller was the featured guest speaker in the fifth installment of the Devex Career Webinar Series titled “Ask the Recruiter: Jobs with UNICEF.” Now available online, the one-hour webinar features a presentation by Schaller, as well as a question-and-answer period during which the U.N. recruiter responds to questions submitted live by Devex webinar participants.
