WFP Assists 5 Million Bangladeshis

The World Food Program approved a USD179 million emergency assistance program to address immediate needs of impoverished Bangladeshis suffering from surging food prices and natural disasters. According to

, the initiative – carried out in collaboration with the government – will back emergency safety nets, employment generation schemes, emergency school feeding and targeted relief programs to 5 million people in urban and rural communities.
